ALPHA House of Pinellas goes Hollywood at Gala
ALPHA House of Pinellas County rolled out the red carpet at "Classic Hollywood,'' its annual spring gala held at The Wine Cellar in North Redington Beach.
The event raised nearly $40,000 for the organization, which provides counseling and life skills training, food, housing and medical care to women who are experiencing crisis pregnancies.
The emcees for the evening were Channel 10 news anchors Heather Van Nest and Reginald Roundtree. High school and college students acting as paparazzi and later as actors from classic Hollywood movies presented the entertainment, with high school vocalists performing a tribute to classic Hollywood musicals.
Patrice Hammill and Mary Ann Smith were cochairwomen of the event. ALPHA vice president Theresa Deeb and co-founder Marilyn Deeb presented the Roy Deeb Service Award to Sue Brett, a longtime board and executive committee member.
