Q: Do you have any openings?
A: It depends on your age, because of our different funding sources.
Q: My children and I are homeless - do you have an opening?
A: We assist women who are pregnant or are post-pardum with a child under the age of 9 months. We cannot assist with women who have more than one child. Please call and we can help point you in the right direction.
Q: Do you provide services for men?
A: Our services are for women who are pregnant and homeless.
Q: Are you an emergency shelter?
A: No, we are a long-term therapeutic based program that assists pregnant women with learning the life skills they need to be become successful members of society.
Q: How long can someone stay at your shelter?
A: A resident may reside with us up to 18 months after their child is born.
Q: Do you provide independent living?
A: Yes, however you must be a resident in our therapeutic program initially, and show successful completion before transitioning to our independent living apartment, DEEB. You must also be 18 years old and on level 4.
Q: Will I receive items for my child? I can't afford baby supplies
A: Yes, we provide ALPHA House residents with the essentials for each child and assist you with applying for public assistance.
Q: What will I be required to do in your program?
A: We require all residents to attends weekly group and individual counseling sessions with a Counselor, Monthly sessions with a life skills Counselor and regular meetings with a case manager.
